Bikers for Christ (BFC) is sponsoring a monthly 4 to 6 hour, group ride throughout the scenic highways and byways of Virginia. T-shirt donations benefit the East Coast Down Biker Fund.

9:00 AM – Staging at Fredericksburg Motor Sports (FMS), 430 Kings Highway, Fredericksburg, VA
10:00 AM – Kickstands Up
2:00-4:00 PM – Return to FMS

9:00 AM Registration, 10:00 AM Ride Begins
43 Harris Road, Kilmarnock, VA
$20 per Entry/$5 per Rider.

106 mile ride through scenic Lancaster, Middlesex, King & Queen, Essex, and Richmond counties followed by a Beach Party and specially prices Biker’s lunch at Willaby’s on the Rappahannock River.

Received this from a reader looking for scenic rides in West VA and VA.

Anyone have any good suggestions for them?

My wife and I will be traveling through West Virginia and Virginia on our way to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC, May 22nd and our question is…can you recommend any beautiful, scenic motorcycle rides or roads we could take on the way down? We will be headed toward Manassas where my brother lives.

I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.

ROCKY KNOB — Either the mountains are getting harder, or the people who spend vacation time in them are getting softer.

Consider the plight of officials at the Blue Ridge Parkway: Faced with a public increasingly seeking a cushier mountaintop experience, the National Park Service is considering a makeover for the venerable linear park that would bring more air conditioning to its lodges, along with telephones and televisions.

Primitive campgrounds along the 469-mile scenic drive would begin offering electricity to campers to power their microwaves. And new paved trails in the surrounding woods would accommodate visitors who prefer bike rides on asphalt to rugged hikes over roots and rocks.
