3rd Annual Ride for Jill’s House

The Ride for Jill’s House is a 100 mile ride to support Jill’s House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization. It was established to serve children with special needs in the Greater Washington, DC are with short-term overnight care and a range of social and individual activities; providing the opportunity for respite for their families. The funds raised will help support the on-going operations of Jill’s House. The 3rd Annual Ride for Jill’s House continues in the memory of Steve Schirmann who shared this passion for children with special needs. Contributions are tax deductible and can by made by credit card.

106 mile ride through scenic Lancaster, Middlesex, King & Queen, Essex, and Richmond counties followed by a Beach Party and specially prices Biker’s lunch at Willaby’s on the Rappahannock River.

What: Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser – $10 Per Person
When: Sunday October 17, 2010
Time: Registration starts at 9:00 AM – Kick stands up at 10:30 AM
From: Emporia,Va. at Huddle House (Located at Simmons Truck Stop)
To: Blackstone,Va. & Lake Gaston, NC
Pit Stop: Pit Stop will be made at McKenney to gas, stretch legs, etc.
Also: 50/50 Drawing – Will be done at the “Lake House”
For: Rev. Vincent Lowery’s annual Turkey Giveaway for needed families and Hospice of Emporia, Va.
Route: 301 North to 40 West to Blackstone, Va. to “Mitchell’s Restaurant and Lounge.” This is a beautiful ride with good roads. After a Pit Stop at Mitchell’s for about 1 hour or so, we will ride to The “Lake House” on beautiful Lake Gaston, NC. Both Restaurants are great and the Staffs are second to none. They are always glad to see us and provide us with great service!

Freedom Benefit Ride – October 2, 2010
October 2, 2010 we will be riding roughly 50 miles. At our final destination in New Castle, riders and family will enjoy a free concert. Food and drinks will be available at the concession stand.
Raffle: Each rider will get a raffle ticket before they leave. At our refreshment stop riders must get their tickets punched by one of our volunteers before heading to the final destination.
The drawing for the raffle will be held at the final destination and you must be present to win.
1st prize: $500.00 – 2nd prize: weekend at the Roanoke Courtyard by Marriott (Jacuzzi suite) – 3rd prize: $50.00 gift certificate to Roanoke Valley Harley Davidson.
Start: The ride takes off from Starting Point Ministry Resource Center (3330 Hollins Road NE Roanoke, VA)
First riders out: 9:30 am (free Coffee will be available before the ride) Last riders out: 10:30am.
Registration Fee: $15.00 pre-register, $20.00 the day of ride and $5.00 for extra rider.
