Received this from a reader looking for scenic rides in West VA and VA.

Anyone have any good suggestions for them?

My wife and I will be traveling through West Virginia and Virginia on our way to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC, May 22nd and our question is…can you recommend any beautiful, scenic motorcycle rides or roads we could take on the way down? We will be headed toward Manassas where my brother lives.

I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Saturday May 2, 2009 Join the “HOKIE HOG” on the second annual charity bike ride to Va Tech, Blacksburg, VA, to remember the second anniversary of the April 2007 tragedy at VA TECH, we’re riding from Manassas to Blacksburg to present donations and visit the campus and memorial on the drill field.

Visit hogs4hokies.org to register and donate on-line. It’s a one-day ride from Manassas to Blacksburg and optional next day ride back (accommodations not included). Mark your calendars!

6:30-8:00 sign-in/breakfast by Manassas Hooters, all out by 8:30am.
11:00-1:00 lunch Shenandoah HD.
3:00-5:00 ceremony at Va Tech Drill field (center of campus).
5:00-7:00 dinner / raffles New River Valley HD Christiansburg, Va
