On Aug. 23, my husband and I headed out on our motorcycles from Gloucester to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. We were fortunate enough to get a metered spot on Atlantic Avenue. We parked our bikes and fed the meter some change. Upon our return to the bikes, we found we were the lucky recipients of two parking tickets –– one for each bike –– at $12 a piece.
We immediately checked the meter and found we still had 1 hour and 46 minutes of paid parking. What we also discovered was we were ticketed because we parked both of our bikes in the same spot. We had four tires in that spot, the same as one car would have.
I thought that 2 bikes were allowed to share a spot down at the beach? Anyone know for sure?

Virginia Bikers Association Hosts Rally
The Virginia Bikers Association hosted their 3rd annual Thunder on the Mountain motorcycle rally at the Lake Ridge RV Resort in Carroll.
More than 200 motorcyclists rode through the county as the Virginia Bikers Association held their 3rd annual “Thunder On The Mountain” bike rally on July 25-27 at the Lake Ridge RV Resort in Carroll.
“This was a huge success for the Association and it was great to support two great charitable organizations in the county,” said Wes Hurst, Supervisor for Carroll County and Treasurer for the Virginia Bikers Association.

FAT FREDA’S BIKE BASH TO THE BEACH

There is no charge for the event, but will be taking donations for Breast cancer Research. Radio station will simulcast and have alot of give aways (t-shirts, Mugs etc.) Fat Fredas will also be giving away T shirts, a bicycle or two, food tickets. Also scheduled will be appearences of Marilyn Monroe,
Elvis,Patsy Cline and others {impressionists}. Everyone of all ages welcome. Next door is also the VFW and the Broken Chain Motorcycle Gift shop. Come join the fun! The foods good, Beers cold and friendship abounds.
