ABATE of VA: Mid Atlantic Motorcycle Spectacular

Olde Dominion Chapter was joined by members of Mason Dixon, Culpeper and South Fork Chapters and sponsored the ABATE booth and a 50/50 raffle that raised $205.00 for Bike P.A.C. of abate. We had a great time and got new members too! Check out some of the pictures...

RichG writes "There's several items to report. First, Mountain View elected a slate to serve for 2004. (A big thanks to the crew of 2003 officers.) The new year has Lynn Dewater taking the treasurer's slot, Angie Burnley again as secretary (agreeing to stay there until a new secretary can be installed,) Gary Dewater returns as assistant coordinator, and the chapter elected me for coordinator for 2004. "

MissPenny writes "Well, the cold weather and rain hasn’t stopped the South Fork Chapter! We decided to back the Republican candidate for state senate Mr. Mark Obenshain. Our members have signs in their yards and bumper stickers on their cars. We’ve been pounding signs for Mr. Obenshain all over town. He seems destine to win the election and he is sympathetic to our cause. We’ll be at the polls on November 4th to support him."

Meeting called to order at 10:10 a.m. BOD Officers in attendance: Mike Niznik-Coordinator, Andy Keaton- Asst Coordinator, Paul Stathis- Treasurer, Sharon Keaton-Secretary, Dave Sutton – Sgt at Arms and Helmet Law Reform Committee, Lynne Niznik – BikePac of VA, and Penny Adams – Membership Committee and MRF Representative. Regions I, VI, VIII, and X were represented. Richard G from Amherst was appointed to represent Region II and a quorum was established.

IRON HORSE CAVALRY CHAPTER
JOE M - COORDINATOR
The newly formed IRON HORSE CAVALRY CHAPTER has officially exploded on to the scene. Our first member meeting was held on October 16, followed by our first Poker Run on October 19, we have signed 31 new members, 3 CHAPTER 99 transfers, plus the 5 original members, totaling “39” members, its gotta be some kinda (29 new members) record for a four day period. What can I say but great job by our board, and thanks to new members for showing their support. We are just getting started.

The first meeting of the new ABATE of Amherst County chapter will be held on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003 at 7:00PM at the Rutledge Inn In Amherst. (Rutledge Inn is on US60 about 100 yards east of US29.) Matters such as officer selection, bylaws and so forth will be handled at that time.
