This year's Southern Cross Conference will be held October 6,7,8 in Texas. That's quite a ways for us, and if you are short on vacation (as I always am), consider checking out the cost of flying. You will not regret attending this, I guarentee! Here's the initial info:
The 2006 Southern Cross Conference will be held in a rustic Old Texas Town called Old Sawmill Town, USA. The town was recently damaged by Rita but I believe is suitable for our purposes. We have made arrangements for free camping and will only have to pay for the lights. To check out the town go to motorcyclecampground.com
It consists of 28 acres with a small lake for swimming if you choose to do so.
For those not wishing to camp out there is a small Motel and RV Campground about 2 ˝ miles from Old Sawmill Town. This also is a beautiful rustic, rough cedar motel and the rooms are beautiful. However ALL rooms are non smoking and breaking the rule will result in charges. Each room has a beautiful covered porch with butt buckets. They have a 10:00pm quiet rule.

They have ten rooms and if I rent all ten in advance I can get them for less than $50 per night. That depends on how many would prefer to wimp it.
Current plans call for snacks and possibly some entertainment on Friday. We will be there wed. or thurs. in case anyone wants to come early. Saturday we will have a speaker from Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. I am certain you will all find this program interesting.
Then we will get down to the business of hearing from each state which federal officials we can depend on from each state and any bikers who may become viable candidates for federal office in the 2008 election.
The nearest airport is in Beaumont and is about 45 minutes away. We will provide transportation for those needing it.
Cost for this years Conference will be $35 plus something to auction from your state.
