A big thank you to all of those who attended the 2005 Biketoberfest® festival October 20-23! Even with Wilma lingering south of us, the event was a lot of fun for those who made their way to the Daytona Beach area for the annual festival. If you missed the 13th edition it's still not too late to make your plans for the next Biketoberfest® scheduled for October 19-22, 2006.
During Biketoberfest® 2005, a new year-round motorcycle-themed attraction made its debut - Destination Daytona rolled out the welcome mat for thousands of visitors. This new location turned out to be one of the busiest places to be this year, with cool vendors, tasty food, live entertainment and lots of good times hanging out with friends. Inside, the new CVB "Official Visitor Information Center" gave away thousands of official pocket guides, posters and wallet cards to guests. Most folks we talked to loved the new location. Although ZZ Top cancelled all their Florida concert locations (including the stop at Destination Daytona), the place was hopping all weekend. Mark it on your must-see list for the next event or stop by anytime, as Destination Daytona is open year round!
Another big first was the Biketober Motorcycle Classic at Daytona Lagoon. Over 100 spectacular bikes were featured in this fabulous waterpark setting at night. Folks who attended loved it and look forward to their next show scheduled for March.
We know there are a few dates floating around for Bike Week next year, but the "official" dates are March 3-12, 2006. Watch the Biker Beach and Biketoberfest® web sites for all the latest updates. Look for the latest event information to be sent to you online via this e-newsletter.
What would our events be without the great support of our many loyal biker fans. We truly thank you for attending the event and for keeping up with all the latest news online.
The 13th edition is history, but we are already planning for 2006 and being Southern gentleman and ladies, we wanted to make sure you knew you are invited to join us again anytime of year. As we say in the South: "Ya'll come back now.....ya hear!"
