The VABiker.NET Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. The temps have dipped down a bit here and there but it hasn't been to bad, at least not here in southeastern VA. Still been able to take a few nice rides. Becareful out there and have a great holiday! Now on to the bike of the month.

This month we have 4 great looking skoots, a pan, a knuckle, some metric iron, and an evo.

Bike #1 - Robert's 2005 Suzuki V-Storm

I mostly ride with the Dual Sport guys up here in Alaska and do not see any entries from Alaska....so, here are a couple of pics of my 2005 Suzuki V-Strom DL650K5 with Givi hardbags, Staintune exhaust, SWMotech skidplate and engine guard. I ride in the winter with studded tires and regular Tourances in the summer and average about 22,000 miles a year just in Alaska.

Bike #2 - Tim's 1947 EL Knucklehead

These are pictures of a 1947 EL Knucklehead. I bought it as a basket case long about 1990. It's been completely gone through from one end to the other. The motor and transmission were rebuilt by a friend of mine. She has S&S 74" flywheels which brings the displacement to about 68". Gary Woodford at Milwaukee Iron restored the frame in 1996. I did all the assembly which included some handmade parts and all the hard fuel and oil lines as well as the electrics. The wires are cloth covered. The carburetor is a brass linkert M78. I mounted a period brass fire extinguisher on the left rear frame rail and she sports other brass trim such as the brass shift ball, the fork spring top cap, the headlight and horn bracket, the kicker pedal, battery wingnuts and the license plate trim. The paint is Xotic dark red candy over greek gold and House of Kolor Snow white pearl over white shimrin with gold pin striping. I did all the paint in a small shed there at the house. Being candy paint, it changes color depending on the light or as you walk around it in the sun. It goes from Burgundy & cream to a fire engine red & bright white pearl. She's a foot clutch and tank shift ride that's a real pleasure to take down the road. It's a lot different than your normal hand clutch, foot shift deal, it's like learning how to ride all over again. I hope yall think she's as pretty as I do.

Bike #3 - Mike's 2002 Iron Horse Classic

I bought this bike as a retirement present to myself after 20yrs in the Navy. It was originally a 2002 Ironhorse Classic, 107 S&S. In Jun 2004 I was hit by a truck and the bike was nearly totaled. Since then the following modifications have been made to bring it to it's current configuration,
3" out Mean Street forks with 5 degrees on the trees, Vance and Hines Big Radius pipes, Milwaukee Iron fenders, changed to strutless in rear, both custom cut Independent stretched tanks, custom dash with Auto Meter Tach, Digital Dakota speedo, BDL open primary, Accutronix controls, Eurocomponents headlight, custom seat, custom paint by Mike Boyce, D&M spike air cleaner.
The bike now has 12k on it although it sucked wrecking it I like it the way it is now more. Thanks to my friend "Hood" for all the help.

Bike #4 - Shane and Elsie's 48 Pan

Did not get any other info on this bike, just that it is a 1948 Pan C & C Cycle.
