Brothers in Arms MC Putts for Mutts – May 22, 2010

May 16, 2010 by

The Brothers in Arms Motorcycle Club (MC), Yorktown, VA chapter is hosting its second annual spring charity ride on Saturday, May 22, 2010. This year’s is titled “Putts for Mutts” to benefit Vets Helping Heroes.

Veterans Helping Heroes is a not-for-profit organization created to solicit and provide funds in order to provide professionally trained service dogs to every disabled hero wounded in the global war on terrorism. This enables these heroes to return to a life with dignity and self-reliance whether they are visually impaired or have other special needs that require an assistance dog. Assistance dogs provide independence and service to a veteran 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In addition, they are a source of much needed enjoyment as beloved “family members” – running with children, providing comfort for spouses, and the security of knowing that they can even provide such services as predicting an oncoming seizure. It can cost as much as $30,000 to raise a service dog.

The Brothers In Arms MC was established in 2002, in the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington and the local Yorktown Chapter was established in early 2008. The Club, as a national organization, was formed to support past and present members of our armed forces, create camaraderie between like-minded men and women from those services, support veteran charities and causes, to share in our love of motorcycling while promoting a positive image of military veterans and bikers towards the general public.
