April 23, 2010 by Hersey · Comments Off on Motorcycle event to benefit Virginia Tech memorial endowments
The third annual Hogs for Hokies motorcycle ride will be held next weekend to raise funds for the memorial endowment funds honoring the 32 victims of the 2007 campus shooting incident.
Last year’s ride raised more than $16,000 for the 32 Named Endowment Funds. The group’s goal is to ultimately raise $100,000 for each of the 32 scholarship funds.
The rides on May 1 will begin in Richmond and Northern Virginia around 8 a.m. and will proceed to the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg. Each registered rider is required to make a minimum donation of $32. The organizers of the ride also hold auctions and raffles to raise funds.
For information regarding ride registration, donations or sponsorships, go online to hogs4hokies.org
