I lived in Va/Bch from 83-91. If they can get a way with something they will. It is a Mob run town... do not let ANY ONE tell you other wise. From what I have been told...(by my lawer) You feed the meter you are "Renting" that spot for X time. You can do what ever you wont w/ it, So long as you do not go outside of that spot.

I was all so An Office in The Virginia Beach Motorcycle Association we had them (the Copes) try a lot of things too us. Then a police office became a member. Things stop quick win we helped out during the rites.

Funny how that works. We were help the EMTs and had set up a "coffie brake" for them.

Get a lawer fight it win...then Sue the hell out of that town..

Why would anyone want to go to Virginia Beach - especially on a motorcycle?

I received this from a reader:

In March 2002, Virginia passed a law prohibiting localities from ticketing motocycles parking two to a space. The law reads: "No ordinance adopted under the provisions of this section shall prohibit the parking of two motorcycles in single parking spaces designated, marked, and sized for four-wheel vehicles. The governing body of any county, city, or town may, by ordinance, permit the parking of three or more motorcycles in single parking spaces designated, marked, and sized for four-wheel vehicles."

see: http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?021+ful+CHAP0266

Delegate Sam Nixon was the patron of the bill.

Thanks!

I LIKE IT!!!
We had lived in Virginia Beach for awhile, then moved to Surprising Suffolk after being subjected to more of this sort of thing from the city.
I'm going to check the meters and do the math and see if it would be cheaper to feed the meter all day or just pay for one parking ticket...

We had the same problem in Ocean City,Md for a bit. We got rid of it by doing a
mass ride , couple thousand bikes , getting in early and taking up every parking space , legally , one bike per space and feeding the meters all day long .
The powers that be rescinded the law . dumb-asses.
