July 31, 2008 by Hersey · Comments Off on Visitor Looking for Some Info on Challenger MC
Got this from a VABiker.NET visitor looking for some information on a motorcycle club his grandfather belonged to back in the 50’s/60’s
I really need help my grandfather was a supervisor at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in the 40s and 50s. He was a member of a MC called Challenger Motorcycle Club. I have his pin, it is sort of a le badge with what looks like a indian with a spear. He rode indians and harleys. This would have been in Norfolk or Virginia Beach in the 50s or early 60s. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation reports that language similar to the HIPAA loophole-fix language contained in HR 1076 may be offered by the bill’s sponsor to a piece of legislation being worked on by the US House Energy and Commerce committee, as previously reported by the MRF.
While we are not privy to private negotiations between committee leadership and the bill’s sponsor, we are cautiously optimistic that language that would be of benefit to motorcyclists would be included.
The MRF has been aggressively lobbying committee members and staff to encourage this.

DANVILLE, VA – The AMA Big Kahuna Superbike Nationals is always one of the most popular events on the VIRginia International Raceway calendar and this year’s August 15-17 event will be an even bigger draw – attracting fans of both classic racing bikes and the latest factory offerings.
Historic bikes and replicas will crowd VIR’s Gallery in an exhibit of cycles representing the history of the sport, with representative samples of all forms of motorcycle racing – from flat track to MotoGP to trials and motocross. This may be the best chance to see a collection like this in one location so take advantage of this rare opportunity.
